One of the great things about Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center is its location on the banks of the Chena River, which is a center of activity in Fairbanks. Friday it was sunny and 75 degrees. From my upstairs office window I could see the last of the ice from upriver flowing quickly through downtown:

Fairbanks has the most consistent warm weather of any destination in Alaska, and has nearly 24-hour daylight (midnight sun) all summer. So…after the last of the ice in the river is gone, and looking out the window right now it seems it is, we have a generally beautiful season ahead of us.
